THERAPEUTIC PHARMACEUTICALS, a manufacturing unit of Quality Formulations, was established in 1961 by Mr. K.P.Menon. Over the years Therapeutic has established a reputation for innovative work and the Quality of its products. The firm presently has its Pharmaceutical formulations unit in Central Mumbai (Prabhadevi) and has departments to manufacture Tablets, Capsules, Liquids & Injections. The facility has an in-house Quality Control Laboratory.  All these departments are manned by highly trained FDA approved personnel. 

In the early years the firm carried out Research & Development work both in- house & jointly with several Universities/Hospitals all over India, and as a result, was able to introduce several new formulations to the Medical profession. One of these products is Paracetamol solubilized in Injectable form & Pediatric Drop form branded as AEKNIL. Prior to launching this product, the firm conducted extensive clinical trials and the findings were documented in various Medical journals.   

While AEKNIL is the most recognized product of the Company, the other “First Time” products introduced were items like SOLUCORT (Prednisolone solubilized for the first time in palatable pediatric drop form), GLUCOCORT (Dexamethazone solubilized), Isoniazid-PAS combination etc. 

The firm has been marketing its formulations ethically all over India through its Authorized agents, participating in Government Tenders and has been supplying to Premier Institutions like the Indian Railway Hospitals, BHEL, ISRO, TELCO etc.  The firm has been exporting its formulations since mid nineteen sixties and its products are registered with the Ministry of Health in various countries. 

The firm has a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate from the Food & Drug Administration- Maharashtra, India, who is the Governing & Regulating Body of the organization.  

The implementation of the new Schedule M norms as stipulated by the Drug Controller of India will further improve the Quality of the Formulations manufactured and help to exploit the export potential of the Company. Also, the adoption of other Quality Standards, such as ISO 9000 will allow the Company to expand and introduce its product range to new Markets, both within India and countries abroad. This could also help promote a business alliance of Therapeutic along with suitable larger companies, which would prove mutually beneficial.
